Artem(Is) Rising (1993) Collaboration with 77 Hz video ensemble. An interactive performance and video incorporating text from the New York Times, Iran Times, The Bible and the Koran to form a feminist view of sexuality.Also uses the Body Chime infrared motion sensor to control synthesized sequences with partial randomness. Scriptures (1993) With text from the Koran and the Iran Times this solo piece examines the paradox and politics of the Iranian chador (veil). Utilizes a surveillance camera over the body which is painted in an imaginary script. In collaboration with video artist Benton Bainbridge. The Marsh, San Francisco.
Private Eye/Public Hand (1993) Solo sonic performance piece/installation in collaboration with media artist Nancy Meli Walker featuring live surveillance video, the 'Body Chime' motion sensor, a walkway of hexagonally close-packed marbles, and samples of foreign languages.
